This six and a half minute debut single, which suggests a broken relationship, was originally released in April 2009 as the band's debut release on the Belgian techno label R&S. Its dance-floor appeal generated some initial interest in the band. Guitarist Matt Cocksedge commented to BBC's Newsbeat: "Counterpoint just felt like it should be a bit of an epic."
