Do It Like A Dude

Jessie J (real name Jessie Cornish) is a British singer and former child actress, who before releasing her own material, found success as a songwriter. Her highest profile composition in the early period of her music career was co-writing the Miley Cyrus track "Party in the U.S.A.."

This dance-pop track is her debut single as a solo artist. Cornish co-wrote the song and the other credited writers are:
George Astasio guitarist of the Californian rock band Orson.
Jason Pebworth vocalist of the Californian rock band Orson.
Xenomania musician Jon Shave who has also penned songs for Gabriella Cilmi, Girls Aloud and Sugababes.
Songwriter Kyle Abrahams who has also penned songs for Gabriella Cilmi, Chipmunk and N-Dubz.
Songwriter Peter Ighile who co-wrote with Kyle Abrahams the #1 hit Oospsy Daisy for Pop/Urban artist Chipmunk.

Cornish told The Sun that she's surprised this became her first full release as it started out as a joke - written with Rihanna in mind. She met the Barbadian star briefly when she was touring with Chris Brown. Said Jessie: "At the time I felt that the chart was very Auto - Tune heavy. There was a lot of guys with their trousers down by their knees and chains so heavy they couldn't hold their head up.And I just went into the studio and they played a beat and I just started singing, 'Do it like a brother, do it like a dude.'

And it was a joke, I was laughing. I said 'Let's write a joke song.' and within 15 minutes it was done. Rihanna's Rude Boy was out and I thought, 'It just has her swag all over it, let's write for her.' It was one of those songs that was supposed to be fun. I don't take myself seriously at all."
