Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Hooked. By Songfacts®.

This Seth Ennis, Morgan Evans and Lindsay Rimes penned song is a tribute to falling head-into-heels in love. Though the track wasn't written with Dylan Scott's wife Blair in mind, it has her stamp of approval. "A buddy of mine came to me with it, and said 'You've got to check this out,'" he explained to Billboard magazine. "So, I'm driving down the road with my wife, and I ask her to listen to this song. She starts jamming to it, and all of a sudden, I'm jamming to it, and we knew instantly that I had to record the song. Luckily, it turned out pretty cool. It's just a jam - something that you can ride around with the window down and jam out to."

The song came about in part because of Morgan Evans' wife Kelsea Ballerini. "That's kind of a funny story," he explained to ABC Radio. "I actually walked into the writing room one day, and I wrote with Seth Ennis and a producer from Australia named Lindsay Rimes... and it was just after Kelsea and I started dating." "She'd just posted about it," Morgan continued. "She had 'Peter Pan' out at the time, and I walked into the room, and they were like, 'Alright, so Kelsea's got "Peter Pan," and we should write one for you called "Hook"!'" "That is a terrible idea," he added laughing. "But then we started playing guitar for a little bit, and we were like, 'What about "Hooked"?' And we wrote that song, and we were pretty stoked with it."
