Carti is referencing 2 Milly's 2015 anthem for his squad's signature dance move. "Milly Rock." The "rock" in "Milly Rock" is a play on words also referencing the slang term for crack cocaine, which the Atlanta rapper is hiding in his "sock" before selling it.
The beat was supplied by Queens, New York-based producer Pierre Bourne, who regularly supplies Carti's instrumentations. In line with its geographical inspiration, Bourne gives the song a woozy New Orleans bounce soundscape.
