Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about bloodline. By Songfacts®.

Ariana Grande sings on this reggae-infused banger about having a sexual relationship with a friend. Put it down, then it's time to go Get it like you love me But you don't, boy, it's just for show Take it or leave it, you gotta take it or leave it Grande's sexual partner wants to get serious with her. However, the singer doesn't want to fully commit to an exclusive relationship. Instead, she just "wanna have a good time" and tells him she doesn't want to have a child together and have him "in her bloodline."

The song was produced by Swedish hitmaker Max Martin and his co-writing and production partner Ilya Salmanzadeh. "Side to Side," another of their collaborations with Grande, has a similar reggae-lite sound and sexual theme.

The first voice we hear is that of Marjorie Grande, the singer's grandmother ("Nonna"). She explains that her granddaughter is still healing in the aftermath of breaking up with her fiancé Pete Davidson and the death of her ex Mac Miller. She is not looking for a serious relationship at this juncture in her life.
