Dylan Scott was born and raised in Bastrop, a very small town in Northeast Louisiana. Here, he paints the picture of small-town living, which the young Scott grew up loving. It's just a little town square middle of nowhere Ain't even big enough to be a map dot We ain't got a lot but we sure do a lot With the little bit that we got "We had to create our own entertainment, since we didn't have malls or movie theaters," Scott recalled. "That is what this song is all about, and I wouldn't trade the way I grew up for anything."
Dylan Scott wrote the song with: Frequent collaborator Matt Alderman. He also co-penned the similarly themed "My Town" for Scott's eponymous debut album. Nashville based singer-songwriter and guitarist John Taylor.
