Born in Coventry, England, Jen Ledger played drums in a local band as a teenager. After passing her GCSEs she won a scholarship to America's Living Light School of Worship in Kenosha, to study drums. When the Christian rock band Skillet attended her local church, they asked her to audition to replace their existing drummer, who was retiring. Ledger was chosen and she started her Skillet career aged 18 with the Comatose Tour. Jen Ledger began to write music for her own pop-influenced solo-project album with bandmate Korey Cooper. After signing a deal with Atlantic Records and Hear it Loud, the imprint launched by Skillet and longtime manager Zachary Kelm, she released her eponymous debut EP in 2018. This standalone single was released the following year.
Ledger explained that the song is a celebration of God's love. "I find it so mind-blowing that before the creation of the world, He not only knew my name but He chose me and He loved me, He knew the mistakes I was going to make, He knew the ways I was going to let people down or even let myself down and none of it shocks Him," she said. "None of it makes Him turn away and His love stays strong just the same. There is nothing better and greater and sweeter than the love of our God and the fact that I can rest in that for the rest of life. It's simple, but it's profound and I think it's absolutely worth celebrating."
