Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Denim and Leather - 2009 Remastered Version. By Songfacts®.

In a June 1981 interview with Kerrang! lead vocalist Biff Byford said he hoped "Denim And Leather" would turn out to be a medium-paced song like Free - i.e. the band. The phrase has long become a cliché, and probably was even before Saxon were formed in 1978, but although this is one of their earliest songs, it remains one of their best, and one with which rockers both sides of the Atlantic, and indeed the world over, will identify. The title track is a group composition and is also the last song on the album, running to 5 minutes 25 seconds.
