Here, Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart laments a romance gone cold. Their relationship has deteriorated from what felt like a teenage love affair to two strangers passing like ships in the night. Distraught, Taggart picks up his lover's iPad and scrolls through her pictures and posts "looking for something that I used to have."

Taggart wrote "iPad" with his Chainsmokers colleague Alex Pall at a time when he felt confused about the relationship. Because he had unexplainable conflicted feelings concerning the romance, he couldn't talk it through with anyone. As he doesn't keep a journal, Taggart wrote this song to organize his thoughts.

Taggart and Pall created the bubbly electronic production with Ian Kirkpatrick. The Los Angeles-based producer also co-wrote two of Dua Lipa's hits with frequent Chainsmokers collaborator Emily Warren: "New Rules" and "Don't Start Now."
