The song was written by Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley, Daniel Ross, Ernest K. Smith and Josh Miller. Jake Owen told The Boot he recorded the tune because the summer-friendly lyrics were right in his ballpark, but it's also "one of those songs I just never had heard written before."
The working title was "Catamaran Dan," which Owen still thinks should be the title, even though "drink all day" is the song's hook.
