Griff wrote this song about how her random anxieties intensify when she's lying in bed trying to sleep. She's pleading to have at least one night away from all that worrying.
Griff released the single on August 26, 2021, premiering it on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Charli XCX. She described the tune to Charli XCX as an "emotionally desperate song" where she's "reached a point of desperation where you're like, I just want one night where I'm away from it."
Griff wrote the song with the track's producer, Peter "Lostboy" Rycroft. Lostboy also produced her hit single "Black Hole."
