Guru Josh is keyboardist Paul Walden, who in the late 1980s was a nightclub entertainer in Jersey. In 1989 he released the acid house track "Infinity," which peaked at #5 in the UK and was also a hit across Europe. Josh fell out with the music press and only achieved one more UK Top 40 hit ("Whose Law (Is It Anyway?)" #26), though he had more success on the continent. In 1991 the rave maestro moved into multimedia production and it appeared that his hit-making career was finished. However to the surprise of many a year after signing a new record contract under the name of Guru Josh Project, a re-mixed version of "Infinity" by DJ Klaas with new lyrics and a 21st century beat, returned the keyboardist to the UK Top 10.
Paul Walden also made 3D glass art under the name Louie Fabrix. His work has been displayed in Berlin, Madrid, Paris and New York.
