Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Dominos. By Songfacts®.

The Big Pink are an electro-rock duo comprising Milo Cordell, who is the son son of 1960s pop producer Denny and Robbie Furze, a former guitarist for electro-punk singer Alec Empire. They took their name from the debut album of The Band. This atmospheric song is Big Pink's first proper single from their debut album, A Brief History of Love and it became a UK Top 40 hit thanks to its use on a series of television adverts for the Xbox 360.

Cordell told Clash magazine about the DNA of A Brief History of Love: "Our album is a love story in a city; there's a lot of concrete in there, a lot of like bricks and mortar and glass and tarmac and that kind of thing, that's the energy of it. There's a definite vibe of abandonment; sometimes you know how love can make you feel like you've been abandoned, that imagery, maybe it's like a metaphor of how emotions can really be like that."

This won the Best Track of the Year prize at the 2010 NME Awards.
