Tones and I (birth name Toni Watson) is an Australian pop singer-songwriter. After opening for Norwegian songstress Aurora, she had her own run of headline shows along the Australian East Coast in May 2019. "Johnny Run Away" is her debut single.
The song was inspired by Tones and I's best friend, who was struggling to come out to his disapproving father at a young age.
