Fool's Gold is a name given to the mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, which is often found in coal seams. Its brassy yellow color give the mineral a superficial resemblance to gold. It was thanks to Harry Styles that this song came to life. Jamie Scott recalled to MTV News that after penning the tune with MoZella, he originally didn't know what to do with it. "I was in the studio with Harry, kind of just recording vocals, and it happened so quick," he remembered. "It took on this amazing sound and meaning for me as a writer on this album."
