This is a rare heartbreak song from ABBA. Written by their male members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, it reflect the hardships they both faced in going through divorce. The song is reminding the former love that although he (it's sung by the girls of ABBA and thus from a female perspective) may be doing OK, she is still struggling.
This was the first single released from ABBA's final studio album The Visitors. It gave the group their final top 20 chart placing in the UK. Had the charts been compiled at Christmas that year, "One Of Us" would almost certainly have taken the #1 spot. However, with no chart compiled that Christmas, the Human League's "Don't You Want Me" retained the top spot. The song only managed to peak at #107 on the US Billboard chart.
This song reached #1 in Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands and West Germany.
