BA Robertson wrote this with Alan Tarney. Robertson has written many international hits, including "Carrie" (also for Cliff Richard) and "The Living Years" for Mike & The Mechanics. He has also enjoyed chart success in Europe as an artist. His first solo single, "Bang Bang" (1979), achieved worldwide sales of over 1 million and reached #2 in the UK.

A worldwide hit, this made the Top 10 in many countries, including #2 in South Africa and Australia. It was nominated for the 1981 Ivor Novello Song of the Year.
