Written by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay, this funk/acid jazz song was the group's first #1 hit on the US Dance Charts.

If you think this song is about drugs, you're right. "The Space Cowboy is just an analogy for getting high," Jay Kay told The Face magazine. "The Space Cowboy is that little voice inside of you that gets you going."

The first version of this song - dubbed the "Stoned Again Mix" despite being the original - has a greater tempo and features Stuart Zender on bass, while the lower-tempo album track swaps Zender for an unknown bass player, mysteriously credited as "Mr. X."
