Interesting facts and trivia about My Best Theory. By Songfacts®.

This is the lead single from Jimmy Eat World's seventh studio album Invented. The single was digitally released and began receiving radio airplay on August 10, 2010. It was the American alternative rock band's first release for three years and at the beginning of this track, lead singer Jim Adkins sums up their hiatus proclaiming, "It's been a long time."

Adkins said of the track on his record label's website: "The song is about finding your individuality in a world where extremes are more and more presented as your only option."
