Up with the Birds

Running through the Mylo Xyloto album is a storyline in which love triumphs over all. This is the closing track of which vocalist Chris Martin said to Music Week: "That was when we were sort of thinking about a story that seemed like the end of a movie type thing."

The album purposely features four songs that start with the letter "u." Previously on Viva La Vida there were three songs beginning with 'l.'

The song borrows lines from Leonard Cohen's "Anthem," a track from the Canadian singer-songwriter's 1992 album The Future.
