Asked by The Guardian where the inspiration came from, she replied: "A good question. I mean … I had different relationships with men, with people, where they were sort of wrong relationships, but still beautiful to me." The Guardian interviewer then asked: "By wrong does she mean being the other woman?" Del Rey replied coyly: "I mean, I guess so."
