Prisoner is an album born out of pain, a record written in the aftermath of Ryan Adams' divorce from Mandy Moore. Here, he laments his loneliness before a guitar solo takes over to do the closing emoting. It's so hard to be without you Lying in the bed, you are so much to be without Rattles in my head that empty drum filled with doubt. "It broke my soul in a zillion pieces writing this," Adams wrote in his Instagram post announcing the song. "This record mattered more to me than any record before it and my life depended on making it. I would have died inside if I hadn't."
