This is a strange, epic, modern fairy tale about a girl named Isobel. It was the first single released from the Post album.
Björk says of this song on Björk.com: "This is the story of Isobel; she was born in a forest by a spark, and as she grew up, she realized that the pebbles on the forest floor were actually skyscrapers. And by the time she was a grown-up woman and the skyscrapers had taken over the forest. She found herself in a city, and she didn't like all the people there so much, because they were a bit too clever for her."
After directing clips for "Human Behaviour" and "Army Of Me," French filmmaker Michel Gondry returns for the surreal black-and-white music video for "Isobel," which follows Björk in the lead role as a girl who grows airplanes by planting light bulbs with toy planes inside.
