This single was written by Ashley Gorley (Trace Adkins' "You're Gonna Miss This," Luke Bryan's "Play It Again"), Jesse Frasure (Florida Georgia Line's "Sun Daze," Chris Lane's "Fix") and Rhett Akins (Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here," Luke Bryan's "I Don't Want This Night To End.") It finds Easton Corbin crooning about a girl who isn't like the rest of 'em.
Corbin recruited Gorley and Wade Kirby to produce "A Girl Like You". The pair created a modern electronic take on a classic country number with a feel good energy. Corbin said: "I love 'A Girl Like You,' because it has so much energy and it's so young and it kind of has that bounce on it. It just really makes you feel good when you hear it. I know when I first heard it, it made me really feel good. Also, what drew me to this song was, it's a little different than anything I've done. I'm all about going up there and trying new things, as long as I can always kinda keep my traditional country there, but also the current sound. I think that's the key here is to keep your foot in traditional, which is what I do, but also have that element of fresh and new."
The song reached the Top 10 of Billboard's Country Airplay Chart in its 50th week, matching the record of Aaron Watson's "Outta Style" for the longest trek to the top tier in the history of that tally.
