Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Ohms. By Songfacts®.

"Ohms" is the title track and first single from the Deftones' ninth studio album. Named after German physicist Georg Simon Ohm, an ohm is a unit of electrical resistance between two points of a conductor. Deftones use the term as a metaphor for finding balance between opposite forces.

In talking about the album just after "Ohms" was released in August 2020, frontman Chino Moreno told Kerrang, "I've always described our band as having that yin and yang. As people, the music we make, and the lyrics that I write, there's always this juxtaposition and that's the beauty of what we've created." Moreno further told NME in August 2020, "It's a dichotomy of reflecting on negative things, but coming out of it optimistic."

The song's placement at the very end of the album has a meaning. It's meant to be looking back not only on the preceding songs on the album but also on the band's past.
