The first single from Chris Young's fourth album, A.M., was penned by the singer with Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano. Other hit tunes that Nashville songwriters Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano have penned together include Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" and Billy Currington's "Hey Girl."
The song's music video, which was directed by Chris Hicky, was shot on location in Nashville and includes Young's band members. The clip reflects the country party song's exuberant mood. "With a song like 'Aw Naw,' you have to have a fun music video," said the singer. "The night we shot the video we didn't wrap until 4 am but we had a lot of laughs and pulled a few pranks but we stayed hydrated with aw naw juice."
Young told Taste of Country that Chris DeStefano came up with the title of the song, and at first the singer thought it was ridiculous. "You're gonna have to tell people how to spell that," he told his co-writing partner.
