Frontman Rou Reynolds told Kerrang! May 2, 2009 that this is "a ridiculous song." He explained: "The first crazy verse was originally part of 'No Sleep Tonight,' which is probably the most melodic song on the album. We re-wrote that song and what was left became Zzzonked, which is simply a three minute onslaught of drum 'n' bass and hardcore."
