Glasvegas frontman James Allen told the Observer Music Monthly December 2008 that this wintry ballad explores the solitude peculiar to Christmas when, "all your emotions are blown up."
This was the title track from Glasvegas' mini Christmas album, which was recorded in a cathedral that had been converted into a recording studio. Allen explained to the Observer Music Monthly that as a child, he "always wondered what Transylvania looked like, as it was the "embodiment of otherness." He added: "So when I decided I wanted to make a Christmas album I just knew I had to come here."
