Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Loading Zones. By Songfacts®.

This slightly psychedelic country anthem is a guitar-centric ode to Kurt Vile's home city of Philadelphia. It is built around the concept of the freedom to park his car for free in the city that is steeped in the iconography of American Liberty. Vile told Mojo magazine that the song came about from "how I could go to different stores and park in the loading sound, and you have half an hour, sometimes less, but 20 minutes, no problem. Get whatever you want and then get out." He added: "It's about owning your own town, knowing it's like the back of your hand. Sometimes you get burned but still, it beats just driving around like a sucker."
