A track from Kittie's debut album, this song was inspired by a book their guitarist Morgan Lander read called Rites of Burial. The book, written by Tom Jackman and Troy Cole, is about the serial killer Robert Berdella, who killed six men in his Kansas City home from 1984-1987. Berdella, who blinded and tortured his victims, was caught in 1988 when a hitchhiker he was holding captive escaped. Lander and her bandmates were teenagers when they recorded the album, and while most young girls are not reading books about serial killers, most young girls don't form metal bands either.
The music video was directed by Lisa Rubisch, who would go on to direct commercials for the likes of Ikea, Wells Fargo and Dick's Sporting Goods. The clip, which got some airplay on MTV2, follows an angel who has crashed down and lost his wings.
