During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, SZA noted that both she and Kendrick address the role of sex in a relationship throughout the song. SZA added that the track is "dedicated to vaginas." Indeed, the word "pussy" is used 28 times, eight by SZA and 20 by Kendrick.
