This song was inspired by Bay's time working in bars around Hitchin, England when he was in his early 20s. Like many of his coworkers, he had bigger aspirations and dreamed of the day when he could "get out." That day came when he got a record deal and had to fly to New York to sign. Bay says it was the best moment of his life.
Bay says that this song isn't just for him, but for all the folks he worked with during his bar jobs who were chasing their dreams while earning some cash to pay the bills.
Bay wrote this song with the British singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt, whose other credits include "Oh Mississippi" by Lissie and "Mountain Echo" by Jodie Marie.
