Kelly Lynn has been the subject of a number of Janson's previous love songs, including the Buy Me a Boat track "Holdin' Her."

It was Janson's pal who bought up the title after hearing the singer say "done and done" repeatedly. Janson told Radio.com his buddy commented to him, "You say it most when you're talking about Kelly. 'Done and done.' You're on the phone with her and just 'done, got it.'"
