This song sounds like it's about growing up: living in a boring town and getting drunk with a group of friends, and talking about the girl you've fancied from the day you met her. Some lyric interpretation:
"We've got our tracks covered thanks to your older brother" - Getting alcohol or an alibi so they can stay out all night.
"It's the nature of the experiment" - talking to girls and how when you're young it feels like an experiment as you don't really know what your doing.
"It's not the way my mother talks, it's not the people that she mocks" - could refer to him trying to break away from his family and form his own identity.
