Kanye West began recording his ninth studio album in August 2018, originally announcing it would be called Yandhi. Following a series of Sunday Service gatherings, West underwent a spiritual transformation that bled into his music. Here, Yeezy talks about putting faith in God to protect himself from the devil. It refers to God's gift of salvation for sinful men, expressed in the sending of His Son to preach the good news of eternal life. In putting his trust in this message of hope, West is protected against the devil's evil schemes.
The track is a reworked version of the Ant Clemons-assisted "Chakras (Law of Attraction)," a song West originally recorded for Yandhi. The new recording removes the original vocals from Clemons and inserts a different chorus from West, plus a couple of new verses from the hip-hop duo Clipse.
"Chakras" was produced by DRTWRK and Timbaland. The new cut gets some additional help on the production from Pi'erre Bourne, Angel López, and Federico Vindver.
