The title of this Spanish-language single translates to "I Fell in Love." The lyrics give fans an insight into how Shakira met her soccer star partner Gerard Pique. The Spanish footballer was 23 when they first encountered one other on a video shoot for her official World Cup song "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" back in 2010. Shakira saw Gerard alone and found herself falling in love, but at the same time she wondered about their 10-year age gap: "I thought, 'This is still a boy', But what am I going to do?" However, the pair danced until she was tired and she decided to "stay another minute" after looking into his "pretty eyes."

The song was released on April 7, 2017. Shakira sent out postcards publicizing her new single, which contained the artwork showing the singer hanging from a tree branch. The cards also contained some text that read: "It's about a moment in my life when I was so in love that I literally felt I was climbing trees."

So what does Gerald Pique think about the song? Shakira told The Associated Press: "When I played 'Me Enamore' for (Gerard), he really liked it. He looks at me with those eyes like, 'Oh,' like really appreciating the fact that I almost paid an homage to that moment in our lives when we met each other and the turning point in our lives when everything changed for both of us."
