Yxng Bane is a British rapper from East London. Having featured on Yungen's UK top 10 single "Bestie," Bane charted for the first time under his own name with this song, which uses Rihanna as a metaphor for a girl that he admires.
Asked by Billboard magazine why he chose the Bajan superstar's name, Bane replied: "Because of the persona of Rihanna and the affection that I have for Rihanna. So, my perception of her is a good girl, a hard-working female. She is on the edge - really not scared to take a risk, isn't scared to be bad. Do you know what I mean? So that was me just paying homage to all the females who [possess those qualities]."
