Florence Welch opens the High As Hope album with "June," wherein she reflects on the loneliness of fame and her coping mechanisms. I would go in there and just mess around on the piano. And the first song that I wrote was June, which was about that last June in America that I was touring." She added that the album was about looking at love in a different way: "I did think of love as a sort of emptiness. That I had learned that love was a feeling of abandonment."
