This was lead singer Justine Frischmann's take on her now failed relationship with Brett Anderson of Suede (Frischmann played guitar with Anderson in Suede). Anderson mentioned the relationship in some of his songs but hid his thoughts behind poetic lyrics. Justine was much more direct in her songwriting as is evident from the lyrics to "Never Here."
