The name of The National's sixth album comes from this uptempo tune ("If I stay here. Trouble will find me"). The title can be read several ways; drummer Bryan Devendorf's explanation to Gothamist was: "For me it's sort of fatalistic in a way, and maybe a bit paranoid. There's a wryness to it as well, like 'oh, well,' but when you're hearing the record, there's some triumph and confidence that belies [that]."
The song was debuted by the band on the April 25, 2013 episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
The song's music video was directed by Sophia Peer, and was based on the clip for Russian Punk Rock band's Zvuki Mu's song "Grubiy Zakat."
