Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Screaming Infidelities. By Songfacts®.

This song finds Dashboard Confessional lead singer Chris Carrabba confronting a heartbreak. He's going to curl up, get drunk and listen to some sad songs as he dives headlong into the pain and jealousy, thinking about the love he just lost. He chooses to embrace the misery and think about how she has moved on to other relationships, while he is unable to do so. The hairs that she left behind are tormenting him, as he feels they are "screaming infidelities" at him.

Chris Carrabba is rather laconic when it comes to discussing his songs, but in his (very) brief intros to this song during live performances, he has said things along the lines of, "This song is about a girl... that I don't like."

This was a hit on Modern Rock radio and the first Dashboard Confessional song to chart - it made #22 on the Billboard Alternative Songs tally. Much of the song's exposure came on MTV2, which played many of the videos that were more off center. The video won the MTV2 Award at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards.
