Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Where My Girls At. By Songfacts®.

702 are an American vocal girl group whose final and best-known lineup consists of Irish Grinstead, her sister Lemisha and best friend Kameelah Williams. They were named after the area code of their Las Vegas hometown.

This fun anthem was released as the lead single from 702's second album. The song was written by Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, who had previously co-written and produced four tracks for the trio's debut set.

Elliott initially wrote the song for TLC. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes really wanted to record it, but the other two girls weren't so keen so Missy passed it on to 702.
