The title of this Spanish-language song means "The Ring" and many fans have interpreted this song as Jennifer Lopez urging her boyfriend to propose. Some of the lyrics translate as: I have never felt anything this grand And your wild side drives me crazy You've given me so much that I've been thinking I already have it all, but When will I get the ring? The three-time wed singer started dating retired baseball ace Alex Rodriguez in March, 2017 and it seems Lopez wants her boyfriend to hurry up and put a ring on her finger.

Speaking with Ebro Darden on Beats 1, Lopez admitted she had some concerns the song would lead to gossip about her relationship with A-Rod: "I thought about changing (the lyrics to El Anillo) and making it more generic, and then I was like, 'You know, all my music has always been super personal'." She added that Rodriguez didn't initially realize the song was about them, "He goes, 'Grand slam, home run, three on base!' He's like, 'This almost sounds like it's us!' I said, 'Baby, it is about us. They wrote it for me to sing!'" "(He said), 'Yeah, baby, do it - that'll be fun."

The song was penned for Lopez by Edgar Barrera, Andrés Castro, Oscar Hernánde and Jesús Herrera. The Latin superstar recalled on breakfast show Today that one of the songwriters had warned her about its content before handing over the track. "It's funny, the songwriter, this young guy, Oscar Hernánde, who wrote a lot of my Spanish stuff, said, 'I have an idea for a song, but I don't know if you're gonna like it,'" she said. "I was like, 'What do you mean?' (He said), 'It's just a little (bold)... people are gonna talk.' I was like, 'Yeah, whatever, write it... Let's see!'"
