Surfaces is a group based out of Texas comprising Colin Palecki, who handles writing and arrangements, and Forrest Frank on lead vocals and production. Colin's first cousin, Alexa Padalecki, supplies the female vocals when needed.

The feel-good song reflects Surface's spiritual beliefs. "It's just something we believe in," said Frank. "These are things I've picked up through my faith, which is very real to me, but I don't want to preach. The lyrics are an expression of my heart."
