Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Fragments of Time (feat. Todd Edwards). By Songfacts®.

This Soft Rock track finds Daft Punk reuniting with Todd Edwards. The American House and Garage producer had previously collaborated with the French duo to create the song "Face to Face" on their 2001 album Discovery. The collaboration came about when Edwards visited the sessions of Random Access Memories in California, where the duo were seeking a "west coast vibe" for the album. "Thomas [Bangaltier] was talking about how they wanted to pick up this West Coast vibe, and at first I didn't really know what that meant," Edwards recalled. "I'm from Jersey. I've gone to L.A. like twice in my life. But they were saying like going back to the time of like Fleetwood Mac, the Doobie Brothers, just picking up the West Coast vibe, the Eagles."

Edwards' lyrics are about the time he's spent with Daft Punk creating the song itself and were inspired by his desire to capture the moments he experienced during his visit to Daft Punk's studio sessions in California.
