Here, Måneskin imagine a '90s supermodel, basing her on some characters they met during their stay in LA. "At times we were surprised yet intrigued to find how people cared so much about the idea of 'celebrity' and status, obsessing over their looks and connections," the Italian band explained in a statement.

The supermodel character they came up with was an enigma: cool, fun and social, yet troubled and sad with a cocaine addiction. "In a way you love her, because she knows how to have a good time, but you also want to avoid her, because she might get you into trouble," Måneskin explained.

Måneskin wrote the song in LA with American songwriter Justin Tranter, Swedish producer Max Martin, former member of Max Martin's Maratone music production company Rami Yacoub, and Danish producer Sylvester Sivertsen. The "I Wanna Be Your Slave" hitmakers teamed up with Max Martin after they met him at their first LA gig in November 2021. The Britney Spears and The Weeknd producer knew of Måneskin because of their 2021 Eurovision success and agreed to work with the Italian band on their first post-Eurovision album.
