Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Chill In The Air. By Songfacts®.

This is a track from Amos Lee's fifth studio album, Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song. Lee teamed up for the record with producer Jay Joyce, who in the past has recorded with artists such as Cage the Elephant, Eric Church, and Emmylou Harris. This song's gentle melody is structured around sparse acoustic instrumentation. Lee told The Boot that Joyce's restraint as a producer was a key element in capturing that sound. "It was nice to have him around to go, 'I don't think it needs that; I think we're good with less on this one,'" he stated.

Multi-Grammy winner Alison Krauss lent her voice to the track. Lee told The Boot that he has the utmost respect for the singer. "She's just mesmerizing, man," he said. "Her tone and her pitch is so beautiful, and right, and she really cares about what she's singing. That was something that I was really honored by — she was putting energy and thoughtfulness into the work that she was doing, and to me she comes across as really down-to-earth and kind. Those are the feelings that I come away with when I work with her."
