In this euphoric pop-country track, Keith Urban celebrates cutting loose with his lover after hard times. They've got music and beer and will love each other from when night falls to the rising sun.
Urban co-wrote the uptempo love song with Greg Kurstin and Mozella, both of whom are known for a swarm of pop hits. Kurstin is the man behind Kelly Clarkson ("What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)"), Sia ("Cheap Thrills") and Adele ("Hello," "Easy On Me"). Detroit singer-songwriter Maureen "Mozella" McDonald's resumé also includes Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," Charlie Puth's "One Call Away," and One Direction's "Perfect." "Writing 'Nightfalls' with Greg Kurstin and Mozella was pure joy," said Urban. "Two summers have gone by with no way to tour, and the desire to have that feeling again inspired every part of this song and recording. In a world so full of real struggles and fractures, I wanna try and bring something to help us exhale and be in the moment – if only for 3 mins and 41 seconds."
Greg Kurstin played synthesizer, keyboards, drums and bass on the track. He shared electric guitar responsibilities with Urban, while the country star played the acoustic guitar. Mozella sang the backing vocals.
