Aluna Francis sings of having the life sucked out of her by a toxic relationship on this Rock Mafia and Yogi produced track. "I think this song speaks for itself, it was a moment where I was really stuck in this emotional," she told BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac. "That point where you keep going round and round and you can't snap out of it and a friend of mine really just explained to me that this person was promising things but not actually delivering anything and they were just stealing my obsessive energy that I was giving to that person."
Aluna Francis recalled the story of the song to Genius: "I was in the studio with Rock Mafia and I was just talking about a situation that I was going through. I think the most physical, poignant moment was lying in my bed after the person that the song was about had left. And I couldn't move. For hours. I was always like…You know in 'Get Out'? The Sunken Place? I think when something like that happens it seems really insane. You're like, 'What is wrong with me? Am I sick? Am I crazy?' So it was really intriguing for me to look at what caused such a strange reaction. So yeah, that was the source point of this song."
