This song was written by 311 lead singer Nick Hexum, who says it's about falling for the wrong person. "I think many times, people in general - and me, especially - find ourselves attracted to people who are not good for us," he said in his Songfacts interview. "We know it, but we can't resist. That's what 'Beautiful Disaster' is."
The video was directed by the New York-based photographer/filmmaker Carter B. Smith, who also did the Jane's Addiction clip for "Jane Says."
